List building can be real fun. When you build your list using giveaways, you get such a buzz when people sign up to your list. At first it might just be a handful of people a day, but as the days, weeks and months go on this number will grow, your confidence will grow and soon you will have a formidable list. Of course, you should try a number of different ways to build your list, which we will be discussing on this blog too.

What You can Expect..

We will be providing you with a list of the best giveaways to join up and contribute your free gift to. You can also expect advice on growing a responsive list using giveaways and other list building secrets too. We have learned a lot about building a list from Alex Jeffreys, whose marketing style we very much admire.

List Building Secrets – If You Don’t Have a Mailing List, Build one!

One of the easiest ways you can build a list of your own list is by offering free gifts at giveaways.  Many top marketers like Jason James and Alex Jeffreys, have jump started their list building efforts in this way, so why can’t you?

Don’t tell me that you are not a well known internet marketer and it won’t work for you.  Okay when you start you might not get hundreds of sign ups a day, but a handful when you start out contributing free gifts to giveaways.  You will need to experiment a bit, as you find out what works, what doesn’t and soon you will have a list to be proud of.  And guess what, there is at least one giveaway going on everyday, so you will never be short of places to experiment and learn what works best for you.

It is hard work getting noticed on the Internet at the best of times.  You are a fish in a sea of millions, but with a bunch of people promoting their free gifts in one place (including top marketers), you will get a lot more attention than if you were swimming alone.

The premise of free giveaways is that everyone loves to get something for free, so therefore they attract a lot of visitors and potential subscribers.  You have to make sure to try and offer something unique and write a description that is as appealing as possible to attract new subscribers.  The best way to view it is as a swap – your new subscriber will get a free gift, and you will get an email address on your list.

There is a stigma that you shouldn’t build a list based on getting subscribers that sign up to get a free gift, as they are freebie seekers.  Remember that a free customer today, could be next year’s best customer.  Yes, you will get people who sign up, get their free gift and then unsubscribe, such is the world of list building.

If you don’t have a list to start with, you will need to promote the giveaway events in other ways, as you will need to make sure you get some referrals to make sure that your gift stays in the event and so your gift climbs higher on the list and attracts even more subscribers.

It might be hard work and slow at the beginning, but it will soon snowball and you will get a large list before you know it, so it’s well worth the initial effort.
