Your Giveaway Guide

List building can be real fun. When you build your list using giveaways, you get such a buzz when people sign up to your list. At first it might just be a handful of people a day, but as the days, weeks and months go on this number will grow, your confidence will grow and soon you will have a formidable list. Of course, you should try a number of different ways to build your list, which we will be discussing on this blog too.

What You can Expect..

We will be providing you with a list of the best giveaways to join up and contribute your free gift to. You can also expect advice on growing a responsive list using giveaways and other list building secrets too. We have learned a lot about building a list from Alex Jeffreys, whose marketing style we very much admire.

List Building Secrets – Run your Own Contest

Putting a contest on your website can be a magical list building experience! And even better you need little or no money on advertising or SEO.

Offline marketers have been taking this approach for many years. In fact, a poll shows that over half of all Americans EVERY YEAR enter contests and sweepstakes (and that’s just America, with the internet the world is your oyster).  Many savvy marketers are now beginning to take advantage of this list building secret.

All you need is a webpage announcing the contest and a prize. The prize can be a service that you offer, a collection of MRR ebooks or software that is lying dormant on your computer, or whatever your imagination can come up with. It doesn’t need to be expensive.

Contests don’t just get a lot a visitors, but lots of sign ups to. The great thing is, that just like with contributing gifts at giveaways, you know that the people that sign up are interested in what you offer.

If you are not too web savvy or just don’t want to spend a lot of time setting up a contest page, then there is software available, which will help you build a contest form in minutes. It will save you struggling for hours, or getting frustrated with codes coming out your ears and html not doing what it is told.

Today, I came across Contest List Builder software and it makes setting up a contest web page a doddle. It is the answer to a non techie’s prayers :)

Another great way of getting free traffic to your contest site (or any website for that matter) is using free press release services to announce your contest to the world.

PRESS RELEASE WRITING TIP

I find that the best way to create a winning press release is to create a tip sheet. Write about 5 or 7 tips about your niche and announce the contest at the end.

You can a find a great list of free press release sites you can submit your news to here:

    Hi Helen,

I came to your site because of a link in Alex Jeffreys’ book. What your doing is very cool and I will have to come back when I finish my homework. You know Alex has his students moving at such a rapid pace that I have to peek and run. But I have bookmark your site because I definately want to spend some time here.

    I’ll be back,

    Hi Helen,

Being one of Alex’s students I just got the chance to browse your site.

    What a gold mine.

I have a plan to run a Cyber Fishing Match contest.

I plan to get an affiliate to put up some prize money.

Each contestant will be required to submit a photo along with an short essay. Hopefully I will generate a mailing list along with content for my web site which is currently under construction.

    Thanks again for this post.

    Tight lines,

    Captain Hall
